Hi Evan, thanks for your response. Yes, I could look at the serial port. I did not yet work with the kernel debugger. So I'd need some guideline what do do at the console. Also, thanks for the hint about manual copy from /rofs, that could do the trick. Furthermore, shame on me for not knowing about the "alternate" installer. It is somewhat hidden in the website-easy-download-glitz.
You are right about the confusing option - it could help bypass some problems but would not solve issues. Maybe we just have to accept that Ubuntu works perfectly on new systems, but has problems on few older and buggy hardware (I found one more). So I would not insist to dig into the issue further. If you think it makes sense to pursue the problem I could try the serial debugger. -- Freeze at 5% "Creating ext3 file system" https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/224431 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
