Yes. It is working out-of-the-box. I've had no problems with the connection at all. I was using a 32-bit Kubuntu 7.10 in my first post and now I've switched to a 64-bit Ubuntu 8.04; so several variables have changed. As the original reporter of this bug I would be comfortable saying that the newer version of Ubuntu appears not to have a problem and there exists a work-a-round for the older ones (compiling) therefore I would be okay with the bug being resolved as fixed.
