I am also having the same problem on a Hardy LTSP server. I have pam_mount 
connecting to cifs filesystems. The users network folders are mounted 3 
different locations: ~/MyDocuments, ~/Public, ~/MultimediaShare
They show up on the desktop as a mounted drive. I can unmount them as the user 
in a terminal with umount.cifs "path".
As a workaround I tried adding umount.cifs commands to: 
/etc/gdm/PostSession/Default, but these do not seem to work from a LTSP client 
or from the server.
