I can also confirm this program for programs other than totem. Had this happen with a few other programs like Audacity, wine, GoogleEarth.
At the moment I have $ ps aux | grep audacity yamkaof 6484 0.0 1.9 44156 19976 ? D Jun10 0:00 audacity The program went into this state right after starting it, without even opening the main window. Same with 'pq' from the universe repositories using wine.
