Hello, I have the same issue... nothing is shown at all in the navigation toolbar, no address bar no search bar no forward back buttons home etc...
I initially reinstalled the firefox packaes using synaptic... after a firefox restart this then showed the back forward and home icons but still no address or search bar... after clicking Restore Default Set on the customize toolbar option this then promptly removed the icons and i am back with nothing. I have tried the above solutions and also have no luck..
