Thomas, I see; my point is that the bug tracker should not be used for anything not pertaining to triaging and resolving bugs. Every off-topic comment produces superfluous bug mail and can annoy subscribers. Since this bug is in Ubuntu, the support request could be taken to the Ubuntu package for Metacity [1], the support forums [2], or be sent directly to the addressee (you).
