Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ekiga

I am using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. I also could experience the same problem
with Kubuntu 8.04 with KDE4 and Archlinux.
My computer is a Dell notebook Inspiron 6400 with HDA INTEL sound card.
My system is up to date and uses only stable releases.

I will try to describe the bug context:
I installed Ubuntu Hardy Heron from CD.
I configure my computer with ppp to obtain network access.
I launch Ekiga and register my account in it.
I can move the move the slide controls without problem.
I call the echo server (sip:[EMAIL PROTECTED])
Until now, no problem. I
I try to change one of the slide bars which define the input and output audio
levels in the audio panel.
It hangs as soon as I touched.

I kill ekiga.
Now, I unmute the recording input in the system equalizer.
I relaunch ekiga.
I call the echo server.
Moving these slide controls work flawlessly.

So I guess there is some bug that arise when trying to change the sound
level whilst micro level is muted.

** Affects: ekiga (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
