I tried to install octave-forge for octave 3.0 manually from sources but I've got some errors. Moreover, it is required to build the packages from octave shell instead through a common Makefile, so the deployment of a deb package is quite difficult. I dont want to corrupt the /usr tree with something that cannot be handled with apt. I hope that Ubuntu team will provide a packaged version of octave forge and also a backport of 2.1 in order to maintain the compatibility. Octave is one of the most diffuse replacement for matlab.
Actually i switched to Scilab (that's present in the repository) and I feel it really comfortable. -- Hardy : Package Octave Forge is missing in 2.1 as 2.9 and 3.0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/225031 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
