So, If I have understood well, you have the bouncing bar and, instead to have the progression you have the text-mode loading, right? If it is so, it's not a bug -- it's because there is a warning message during the boot. Maybe the behaviour during your pc shutdown is much likely to be related of this bug. When you are logged in, try CTRL+ALT+F1: if you can see the text-mode login screen, you don't have problems (or better, your problems are not related to this bugreport). If you have nothing but a black screen, we are talking about the same bug.
