Unfortunately php5 is not a good candidate to backport into the stable release. There are several reasons for this:
- php interfaces can change between release and release. - Adding more bugs that what we already have. - Investing time in really testing the new version and not breaking anything. However: - The security fixes in php 5.2.6 will be backported by the security team. - You are always welcome to build your own version of php. The wiki explains how to do this.
