Alexander, None of those files was present. I have never used Firefox as root. I always use if from the Applications menu or equivalent icon I've copied to the launch panel. I run it either as an Administrative user or as a Desktop user. It doesn't make any difference to the crashes. I have clean installed Hardy (rather than upgrading from Gutsy). I'm reopening this bug.
