Public bug reported: I'm using ubuntu 8.04 x86_64, just installed. Just after updating the first packages, *synaptic stopped starting from the menu* (click .. load .. nothing opens). And I gksu didn't work either from the menu nor from the CLI.
I found this bug: #236426, so I decided to also add the hardy-proposed to see if it was fixed. After updating about 180 packages, OpenOffice also stopped starting. While I can open it if I double-click from a document. Now NO APPLICATIONS work from the menu (click .. load .. nothing opens), even if I removed "hardy-proposed" (but the packages are already installed: how do I downgrade everything??). Very serious issue, maybe gnome-related. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Can't run programs from the menu!! https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/237047 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
