Public bug reported: Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-17-server
After upgrading to Hardy, booting with root=LABEL=/ doesn't work anymore. How to reproduce: 1. Be sure your root disk has a label (/ in my case). 2. Boot kernel with root=LABEL=/ 3. After 'Loading kernel' nothing happens. Workaround: 1. Specify root by UUID or device name Expected: 1. System boots from the correct device. This bug is also present in other flavours of the kernel package, at least also -generic and -rt. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- kernel option root=LABEL= broken https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/235989 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
