Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-17-server

After upgrading to Hardy, booting with root=LABEL=/ doesn't work
anymore.

How to reproduce:
1. Be sure your root disk has a label (/ in my case).
2. Boot kernel with root=LABEL=/
3. After 'Loading kernel' nothing happens.

Workaround:
1. Specify root by UUID or device name

Expected:
1. System boots from the correct device.

This bug is also present in other flavours of the kernel package, at
least also -generic and -rt.

** Affects: linux (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
