The actions "Switch user" and "Sleep" most definitely *do not* fit
semantically under the descriptor "leave", but the act of "logging out"
does.

'quit', 'finish', and 'exit' are more clear or at least in more common
use.  Probably 99.9% of desktop programs use either 'quit' or 'exit'

@Yuriy: Where and who are the developers and usability people you
mention and on what *data* is the claim made that the descriptor
'logout' would be a regression?  In or out of fashion, if it is more
clear, it is better.
