You're right, i have reset to default and now the slider looks better.
Here's the new diff:

    Name: XV_COLORKEYS
-   Current value: 66046
+   Current value: 66051
    Name: XV_CONTRAST
-   Current value: 128
+   Current value: 126
   Name: XV_SATURATION
 -   Current value: 512
+   Current value: 510

Brightness doesn't change.
After that, each time I open totem the values follows those pattern:
XV_BRIGHTNESS: -1
XV_CONTRAST:     -1
XV_SATURATION:  -2
COLORKEYS stays put at 66051 after the +5 change from the first totem 
invocation.

Pretty much the same as Conn mentionned earlier, but with the 2nd
version of the patch you proposed on freedesktop.
