Thanks for the suggestion Dov, but I'm afraid it did not work. I had the same error messages trying to install it.
But after searching again for Via drivers for linux I found this (see link below) which works let's say 99.9%... http://linux.via.com.tw/support/downloadFiles.action After installing the driver above and rebooting my machine, it started with the screen resolution of 1024x768, just what I wanted!! Great, except for one thing: the login screen is now gigantic (about 4 times the size of the screen) and I can't see the field to type the username and pwd. But it works when I 'blindly' enter my login. So, I'm now searching for a solution to this gigantic login screen... Anyone, any ideas please? regards Roney -- xserver-xorg-video-unichrome broken in hardy. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/196349 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
