Then why does Opera not exhibit the same problem? I am short of RAM
(256Mb) but surely it isn't right that Firefox should just disappear on
low-memory systems?

If there was an issue with RAM, why would it affect Firefox3b5, and
SwiftWeasel 2.0.0.14 but not Opera (or any other program for that
matter?)
