Public bug reported:

What has been done?
Attempted to install Ubuntu x64 8.04 from live CD to 20Gb XFS partition
/dev/sda3.
Actually there is other partitions with Kubuntu, pre-existing GRUB, etc.
Actually I'd planned to use mentioned XFS partition as both /, /home, /boot
and all other stuff.

What's wrong?
Well, during install installer has just warned me that GRUB may fail to
install when /boot is located on XFS.
Really, it does and this failed 5 out of 5 attempts.SGI hovever claims that
recent GRUB should not have this issues (at
http://oss.sgi.com/projects/xfs/faq.html)
Also quite bad behavior is that installer warns about GRUB vs /boot on XFS
second time...when system install is almost completed!Just before trying to
install GRUB after files copying has just completed.
It suggests "go back" but I have no real idea how can I "go back" when
partition is reformatted, system has been copied to it and we're about to
install boot loader.I also have no real idea where to setup will "go back"
since there is no wizard UI anymore at this time, just progressbar so I can
hardly imagine what will happen if I choose to go back at this point.
Also after failure to install GRUB installer not just fails but it may also
encounter some funny crashes.

Expected result:
Ideally I would like option to install with all mountpoints on XFS.This is
possible and technically nothing prevents it, looks just like some software
interoperability issue where some direct write occurs to a mounted partition,
that's quite wrong IMHO.
