I have been having a very similar problem, I am running Ubuntu Studio and the problem only occurs when I am using realtime kernel, if i boot using generic kernel then my system stays stable, but when I boot using RT kernel, my system will go very weird after 1 minute - 12 hours. It looks like it has unmounted all the drives and complains of read/write errors for even commands like 'ls /' pressing ctrl+alt+backspace or ctrl+alt+delete do nohting, GUI stops responding although the mouse pointer usually still moves and the only solution is to reset.
Attached is kern.log of last time i booted to RT kernel, problem becomes evident at 21:00 on May 17th. I have formatted all disks, checked them and reinstalled and the problem persists, I have also installed smart-tools and done a full smart check on all 4 disks. As I said, generic kernel runs sweet as a nut, as do generic kernel and RT kernel under Gutsy. FWIW, I am using a raid 0+1 array on nvidia raid using dmraid. ** Attachment added: "kern.log showing disk issues" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14631425/kern.log-disk-problem -- Hardy crashes - requires hard reset https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/229159 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
