I have exactly the same problem. Now that the livecd (since 10-11-06, I think) properly detects my harddrives (p-ata and s-ata!) ubuntu just stops after a while. It doesn't complete the installation. Ubuntu just hangs before the system is completely installed. :(
PS: I have to boot with irqpoll option, otherwise the livecd won't boot. My system: ASUS P5W Deluxe Core2Duo 6300 (@2800MHz) 2GB DDR2 PC6400 Dualchannel MSI Geforce 7900GTO 512MB 1x Samsung Sata 250GB (jmicron) 1x Samsung Pata 250GB (jmicron) 2x DVD-/+RW (Intel ICH8) I don't know what's wrong. Even if I clock my PC down the ubuntu livecd hangs after a while. It always happens when I try to install from the livecd. regards Dennis -- system pauses https://launchpad.net/bugs/64474 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
