Public bug reported: Binary package hint: compiz
Compiz uses 100% of a CPU when an amarok process is running. With just k3b, kmail, ktorrent, and a few konqueror windows, it is still 10%. All processes involved, other than compiz, are idle. I noticed this while logging in (to the home machine) from work. I am quite sure that the owner of these processes has all windows minimized, since this is is what he always does. (But 100% CPU usage to display an amarok window is a problem in any case.) There are two other compiz.real processes running, from other users that always close their applications, and their CPU usage is only 0.5%. The machine is a 3GHz Core2 Duo, running up-to-date Ubuntu Hardy 8.04, compiz 1:0.7.4-0ubuntu6, nvidia-kernel-common 20051028+1ubuntu8, nvidia-glx-new 169.12+2.6.24.12-16.34, amarok 2:1.4.9.1-0ubuntu3+medibuntu1. I would be happy to provide additional information. Earlier bug reports (like 77164) mention similar issues, but they involve earlier Ubuntu versions and seem to be closed. ** Affects: compiz (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- compiz: high CPU usage with minimized apps like amarok https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/231134 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
