I've got a similar crash at start up:

Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/olive-gtk", line 94, in <module>
    app = OliveGtk()
  File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/olive/__init__.py", line 248, in
__init__
    self._load_right()
  File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/olive/__init__.py", line 1026, in
_load_right
    statinfo = os.stat(self.path + os.sep + item)
OSError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: <snip>

Apparently there was a broken symlink in my home directory. Removing
that link enabled Olive to start.
