Public bug reported:

Hardy Heron

I just got an acer x193w LCD monitor and I am getting the error message
"Input not supported" before Ubuntu loads up and aduring shut down.
After searching acer's website this error is caused by display
resolution set too high.

According to acer's instruction the monitor should be set at
1440 X 900 @ 60Hz when I look into the Hardy sytem/Preference screen resolution
it is set as recommeneded.

I have search and looked and it seems that many have this problem or
very similar but I have seen no solution to this

Acers book information states:

H-Frequency 30KHz - 81KHz
V-Ffrequency 55 - 76 Hz
Max. Resolution 1440 x 900 @ 60Hz

IN the attach file you will find copy of
xorg.conf xrandr ddcprobe get-edid|parse-edit

I have edited my xorg according to some sugetsionsI did read but no
change as well as I have installed the ATI proprietary drivers as per
Ubuntu Howto

Hope this will be of some help
