To use the Debian kernel packages on Ubuntu.  Uh... I'm not sure.  I'm not
sure that would even work, although I suppose it might.  No idea what else
might break, though.

If you mean build from the upstream source tarball, basically you just do
./configure --with-afs-sysname=i386_linux26
--with-linux-kernel-headers=/path/to/kernel/headers.
