Actually, this is not currently reproducible on my system. It had been remedied for a while once, before my initial bug report, only to break again. But since a couple of weeks before Hardy release date (not sure exactly when) it has been working flawlessly.
Since there are no other reporters and it appears to be fixed, perhaps this bug should be closed; if it should resurface, I will reopen it.
