Public bug reported: Binary package hint: acpi-support
Events "video.* 00000086" and "video.* 00000087" must not call "acpi_fakekey $KEY_BRIGHTNESSUP" and "acpi_fakekey $KEY_BRIGHTNESSDOWN" respectively, for Dell Inspiron 9400 (and probably various other Dell laptops), since it generates 2 ButtonPressed events. This is for a single keypress (notice two platform_i8042_i8042_KBD_port_logicaldev_input events, which happen only once when the acpi_fakekey call is commented in /etc/acpi/video_brightnessup.sh): [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ lshal -m Start monitoring devicelist: ------------------------------------------------- 01:38:52.606: platform_i8042_i8042_KBD_port_logicaldev_input condition ButtonPressed = brightness-up 01:38:52.610: computer_logicaldev_input_1 condition ButtonPressed = brightness-up 01:38:52.621: computer_logicaldev_input condition ButtonPressed = brightness-up 01:38:52.842: platform_i8042_i8042_KBD_port_logicaldev_input condition ButtonPressed = brightness-up [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dmidecode --string system-manufacturer Dell Inc.
