** Summary changed: - Ubuntu 7.1 Live-CD boots to black screen (ATI Xpress 1250) + Live-CD (7.10, 8.04) fails to start X server (ATI Xpress 1250)
** Description changed: - hi guys, this is a important problem for me and it wolud be realy very - very great, if it could be solved in next versions....... + The live CD of versions + * 7.10 + * 8.04 + will fail to start X server on laptops using the on-board graphic card ATI XPRESS 1250 + Editing xorg.conf and manually setting driver to "ati" will also fail. - The Ubuntu Live CD 7.10 can't boot on my new notebook (Samsung R60 Aura - Diazz, the graphic adapter is an on-board ATI XPRESS 1250). Similary - bugs have been reported already, but not for this graphic adapter. + Compiling radeonhd from git with the procedure discribed here [1] and + editing xorg.conf to use that driver solves the problem. I didn't + perform any test with 8.10 since there's no live cd avalaible yet. - I tested also the new beta version (8.04) with the same result. + Please ask for more information if needed, + reagards, - Thank You in advance, hoobasco + [1] : http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=article&item=843&num=1 ** Tags added: ati radeonhd xorg -- Live-CD (7.10, 8.04) fails to start X server (ATI Xpress 1250) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/211759 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
