Greetings, Rocko and Sebastian. I just downloaded Edgy's AMD64 desktop .ISO and I'm currently using it.
Rocko's post is correct: The gateway address doesn't get stored (I'm currently browsing through DHCP, sub-sloth speed...). The version of system-tools-backends that's in these .ISOs with Edgy Eft's beta 1.9.5.1-0ubuntu1.
