Not sure if this is the same bug but (it sound similar) : Sometimes (every 5-10 reboots) my computer hangs while loading gnome. The desktop looks normal, but I cannot start/fork any process. When I switch to console, I can login as user, start some simple programs (ls,kill,tail) but anything that that is somehow connected to network (ifconfig, mc, sudo (?)) hangs on (after I strace is): ioctl(3,SIOCGIFCONF,{
After a programs hangs - there is no way to kill it (even with -9 signal) I cannot even shutdown my computer (Alt-Ctrl-Del) - everythings hangs on killing first process (postfix) I have no idea how to diagnose further this bug and I would appreciate any help. ** Attachment added: "dmesg" http://launchpadlibrarian.net/14436116/dmesg.txt -- gnome does not start correctly and hangs https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/172886 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
