Public bug reported: Gnome-VFS did not change the "modified date" meta data field for copied files. Gfvs does, though. As copying files is no modification, this should not happen.
Keeping the original modified date is especially important when copying files from an external source, like a digital camera's memory card, or a usb stick. Steps to reproduce: Copy a file and paste it somewhere else. The modified date of those two files will not be the same. The new file will have the current date and time as its modified date. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gvfs changes the "modified" date when copying files https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228991 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
