Hi,

I've been using Ubuntu 8.04 since alpha 2 and brightness doesn't work yet.
I erased all my hard drive a couple of days ago and installed Ubuntu 8.04,
this time the 64 bit version. Brightness doesn't work either.
Since I only use my laptop as a desktop now, because my battery only last
30min now, I'm not really concerned with this bug anymore, besides still
being a bug.

I think most bugs related to my laptop were fixed, for example, the most
annoying one was to plug phones and the speakers of the laptop continued to
play sound at the same time. Hibernate was fixed too but I don't remember
about sleep. Since I don't use sleep, that's not a problem.

Thanks for your interest and congratulations.
This is release is the best yet!

I did an Ubuntu-Father experience much similar to the Ubuntu-Girlfriend
experience that appeared on Slashdot I think. It shows that Ubuntu is
completely ready for the desktop in my opinion.
