Public bug reported: Hello,
I have a Toshiba R20 tablet pc, with has an Intel 945 GM video card, running a fresh installation of Ubuntu 8.04. Dual screens aren't working, the second screen is always a clone from the main screen. What I have done : First attempt - try to plug the second screen after the system was turned on : 1. Plugged the second display on the VGA port 2. Opened the "Screen Resolution" application 3. Made sure that "Clone Screens" wasn't selected 4. Clicked the Detect display button 5. Clicked the second square (it should represent the second monitor) and selected various resolution/frequencies, and clicked apply 6. The second monitor remains black 7. After messing with the position of the second screen, it finally shows up at 720x400, at the cloned mode, the upper/lower panels get bugged 8. Every attempt to change the resolution isn't successful 9. After messing with the position of the second screen, resolution, and frequency, I'm able to set the second screen at 1280x1024, but it is still a clone, and the panels and desktop area and windows get buggy. Second attempt - boot with the screen connected 1. After booting, the second screen come up at 1280x1024, as a clone. The panels are buggy. 2. Opened the "Screen Resolution" application, the "Clone Screens" option wasn't on 3. Could not think of anything else that I could do to help .... ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Dual screens aren't working [Intel 945GM] https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/228714 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
