Public bug reported: My computer freezes, and btw have problems with usb keyboard (perhaps related perhaps not). - GA-MA78GM-S2H - 2 GB ram - nvidia 8600 GT (used instead build in on mobo) - nvidia binary driver. I tried XGL and compiz and they are installed but now I turned off 3d effects
Two problems 1) on bootup, in GRUB the keyboard do not work - it DOES work when plugged into other USB slot (one of 4 main ones on mobo have this problem) - even in the "invalid" USB slot it works as long as there are other USB events - i.e. when I move my USB mouse around, then keyboard work for few seconds, then again stops (keys have no effect) untill I move mouse again - then it works again fully when system boots up fully (and probably during rest of bootup) - it does work in BIOS settings etc 2) randomly, around daily, computer freezes: - keyboard stops working, even numlock/capslock don't change the LED - hard drive LED is showing disc activity then (i.e. for 10 seconds, then goes off sometimes) - sys-rq-B and others have no effect - pluding other keyboard doesnt help afair - screen turns off (or rather - it shows no input) - as if the gfx card would stop sending data I guess it may be: 1) buggy support of my mobo/gfx models 2) my mobo/gfx is broken (I will try to replace it I guess) 3) something else?
