I have the same problem. Keyboard freezes almost randomly, but mostly after GDM initializes. I'm using kernel 2.6.24-12-generic and 2.6.24-12-rt. This happens almost every time I boot - so that makes my Ubuntu unusable, since sometimes I have to reboot 10 times before my keyboard works. Sometimes the mouse freezes, too - especially when using the generic kernel.
