Sh*t ! I just get the same problem after upgrading yet another AMD processor Gusty machine to Hardy :-(
So that makes 2 updated machines for me that don't boot and hang with « soft lockup-CPU#0 » after upgrade. I upgraded 5 machines, 2 of them won't boot. Really makes a bad percentage :-( This one boots, mounts rootfs, then during startup of services hangs with : « BUG : soft lockup-CPU#0 stuck for 11 s ! [ntdriver:3632] » and this repeats forever... This gives a little more insight : There's a problem with this "ntdriver" but so far I have no clue about what it does... Hopefully it's some NTFS related stuff (I say hopefully because I don't have no windows nor any NTFS on the machine, so I could possibly get rid of it ?) -- Hardy: Kernel 2.6.24-16-generic hangs on machine https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/226096 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
