I've managed to achieve the proper privileges, but *only* by disabling the guest account on that share, which isn't a viable solution in most cases.
The initial mounting (after being prompted for a password) seems to fail with the error: "The specified location was not mounted" However, the share becomes visible in the sidebar and can then be browsed with the proper privileges.
