Thanks, J! Adding Option "UseEvents" "True" to my device section seemed to bring Xorg down to a more usable state. Xorg now eats up about 0-50% of my CPU instead of over 90%
For the reccord, I has an Nvidia 8400M GS on a Dell Vostro 1500 with 2GB of ram, 1.4Ghz dual core CPU, sporting Compiz Fusion with only the latest plugins, tricked out on the NVIdia driver 173.08 beta released on April 10 (which by the way, can be found here: http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display_ia32_173.08.html), all topped off to go with Ubuntu Hardy running up-to-date as of May 1. Good luck, fellow Nvidia users! -- [Hardy] Xorg high CPU usage with 2.6.24 kernel and nvidia-glx https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178400 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
