I can confirm this on Hardy Heron final, CPU Intel Pentium 4 (2.8gHz), 1.5 GB RAM, AC 97 onboard sound, Nvidia video binary drivers. Rhythmbox stutters, when minimizing/maximizing (compiz enabled), alt+tabbing, even while scrolling pages on firefox and basically all the time while using apt/update manager.
It's incredibly annoying.
