I have the same problem. I was trying to uninstal consolekit, but it is bindet to hundreds other apps. Impossible to remove. If I kill it, it restarts automatically.
This bug is very annoying. I never need to switch user, I am the only one here and yet I need to run this absurd application. I have only 512MB RAM and the performance is significantly slower with 60 useless threads. Btw. it also shows on gkrellm. And yes, it was on Gutsy Gibbon as well, but on that version it was possible to remove the consolekit without too much trouble. Not any more. :-( So does anyone have any suggestion, how to get rid of this?
