Yes, I was thinking along the lines of the following procedure to be performed by update-manager:
install xutils-dev remove imake, makedepend other upgrade stuff -- Dapper-Edgy upgrade: three packages are still from dapper https://launchpad.net/bugs/65264 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
