thank you, jocke. the sound works loudly with asound.conf i've got the medion akoya md96630 notebook with Realtek ALC888 High Definition Audio. but there is an other problem, too, which had also been in gutsy: it is not possible to separate the intern sound from the headphones. i tried the linux driver from realtek.tw but they didn't solve this problem.
