Additional info. While trying to get GDM to display properly I went into xorg.conf and removed all video modes below 1024x768 this had no effect on the login but certain games gave that "Cannot display video mode" message again. I typed [EMAIL PROTECTED] back into xorg.conf and the games worked again. Why does it ask for 1280x1024?
