I don't think there is anything misleading here. Ubuntu is a product, and as an LTS version of Ubuntu has guaranteed security support for an extended period. Kubuntu is a completely separate product, has its own website, and as such I don't think it's necessary to introduce the distinction which you suggest, in particular because it would confuse users.
