Same problem here. HP dv9610US, Kubuntu 8.04, Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11a/b/g (rev 02), also not being detected with b43-fwcutter. bcm43xx is blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist, b43 is loaded as a module, but no luck.
