Public bug reported: As of the final 8.04 release, the b43 driver no longer recognizes my hardware. This does not look like a firmware problem.
This is a regression from one of the earlier alphas (perhaps 3 or 4) when the device was working fine. Once I had the firmware in place this driver was also working under recent Fedora 9 betas. I think this has something to do with the driver not recognizing the device. When I manually load the driver, it doesn't report anything to dmesg. I'm hoping I can add the device ID to some file and this will get working. Here is the verbose lspci output for the hardware. 04:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM94311MCG wlan mini-PCI (rev 02) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Unknown device 1374 Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 22 Memory at fc000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3 Capabilities: [58] Vendor Specific Information Capabilities: [e8] Message Signalled Interrupts: Mask- 64bit+ Queue=0/0 Enable- Capabilities: [d0] Express Endpoint IRQ 0 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- b43 driver ignores BCM94311, regression https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/222343 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
