As of the final 8.04 release, the b43 driver no longer recognizes my
hardware. This does not look like a firmware problem.

This is a regression from one of the earlier alphas (perhaps 3 or 4)
when the device was working fine. Once I had the firmware in place this
driver was also working under recent Fedora 9 betas.

I think this has something to do with the driver not recognizing the
device. When I manually load the driver, it doesn't report anything to
dmesg. I'm hoping I can add the device ID to some file and this will get
working.
