Public bug reported:

There is 25000+ packages in the repository. It is a jungle. I have no
idea what all stuff are, and whats good, and whats not so good.

I would like to see an software website. Kinda like download.com or
something.

It can have stuff like "Most popular software", "Latest updated
software", "Top 25", "Top 50", "Top 100". "Most popular this
week/month/year". "Top-rated", "User favorites".

And it can be stars, like 1-5 star to see which one is good.
Maybe users can vote, and write description what they think and others can read
it.

The website can have screenshots too. So that you can see what the
software looks like and how it is, without actually installing it.

Also you can have "Pick of the month", and such.
And you can browse by category such as business, games, graphics, multimedia,
networking, security, science, etc.

And you can search the site, and install software with just 1 click
using apt-url, etc.
