Binary package hint: inkscape
Latest Hardy.
Open the attached PDF in inkscape, choosing to import text as text.
Try editing the text with the text tool.
Bug! The cursor moves around the text somewhat sensibly, but as soon as you
start typing, it deposits letters all on top of each other and gets very
confused.
fyi, the attached pdf file is very simple; in fact it's from pdflatex:
