** Description changed: Two games; Wolfstein: Enemy Territory and Extreme Tux Racer. Both like to do default resolution of 800x600. When these games start up, my monitor produces an Out of Range error. In Ubuntu 7.10, this error didn't appear. If Desktop resolution is set to 800x600, no monitor error is reported. If any other desktop resolution is used, no monitor error is reported. Open Arena, Alien Arena (though broken) appear to function. Hardware & Software Ubuntu 8.04 nvidia-glx-new Nvidia Fx 5200 - 1400x900 native monitor resolution. + 1440x900 native monitor resolution. Update: Thanks to amyrose on irc. I narrowed the problem down to this; Monitor does not support 800x600 @63 or @64.
