Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

When using "Places/Connect to Server...", I can no longer provide a name
for the connection (this was possible in Gutsy). Now, volumes appear on
my desktop with poor names and there is no way for me to give meaningful
names to them. I can't even prevent Gnome from putting the icons on my
desktop, and if I set Nautilus to hide volumes, then my USB devices will
no longer appear there.

If I have to live with these icons on my desktop, I want to give them
the name I want. I don't want to cope with the names Gnome has decided
to give them.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
