You're a chief clown aren't you ? How come some come bugging me after three years silence to come tell me such stupidities on a bug report site ? (and I don't use Windows). Subject: Import functions in mails clients. Solution needed, ease the import of profile from Thunderbird to Thunderbird, from any GNU/Linux distro to another. The shame is : it used to be ready for Outlook users, but Linux users are supposed to know how to copy the directory from one place to another, even when being newbees (what I am not anymore, three years after). I recently saw that no import function at all works in Evolution, thus I think the problem probably exists for *all mail clients*. > This is more of something you should report upstream if you want Mozilla to make it easier to move files from one to > another. I also think the distribution makes it's own repackaging, and the mail client might as well offer some tiny differences from one distribution to another. > If i am wrong please explain in detail what you want to see, Changing the package that it is reported on doesnt make it any easier to understand what you are looking for. I think it's unfair that Windows users usually get all the good docs and methods to do things, and GNU/Linux users used to get all the hard work asking everywhere how to do that, just because they are Linux users and where supposed to know how to deal with that, but after three years, the things have changed a great deal with the communautary wiki's. But still, Thunderbird should be able to import the personal stuff from another Thunderbird, when you want to change from one GNU/Linux distribution to another. So if you want to fix import functions now, after three years, test it : install two distros etc... If you don't want to fix it, close this report. I wrote it at Breezy Badger time.
